The Charles-Biddle Award recognizes the exceptional contribution of people who have immigrated to Quebec and whose professional and personal commitment has contributed to the cultural and artistic development of Quebec.
Through their achievements, these men and women are models of success, both in their own fields and for Quebec society as a whole.
The Charles-Biddle Award is a two-part prize, with two $5,000 bursaries:
It rewards the efforts, contribution, involvement, commitment and influence of individuals, at home or abroad (national and international component), or in their region, city, village or community (regional component).
For each category, a jury selects three finalists, whose names are revealed in a video broadcast by La Fabrique culturelle de Télé-Québec. One person from each category is then crowned winner, and receives a dedicated video portrait, a $5,000 bursary and an original work of art. The other finalists receive an official certificate from the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI).
Prizes and certificates will be awarded in November by the MIFI, in partnership with Culture pour tous, during the Quebec Intercultural Encounter Week.
