For a rich and fertile culture
Initiated by Culture pour tous, made possible by the financial participation of the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration, and proudly supported by the Quebec Public Library Association, Racines plurielles promotes encounters between established citizens and newcomers to Quebec through cultural mediation activities. The project is part of a commitment to sharing, discovery and mutual participation in the enrichment of Quebec culture.
Racines plurielles is being developed with the help of teams from various public libraries, which are key meeting places for the community. This initiative supports the information, awareness and promotion activities already carried out by these establishments, and highlights their rich cultural offerings. In the course of its support, Culture pour tous will provide the various players involved with the training and tools they need to successfully carry out the project’s activities.
OBJECTIVES
- Contribute to the fight against racism, intimidation and discrimination through activities that foster respectful, egalitarian and inclusive living together;
- Ensure the full participation of all, especially immigrants and ethnocultural communities, in Quebec culture;
- Encourage, through cultural mediation, the creation of harmonious intercultural relations and strong, lasting ties between immigrants and their new community;

Racines plurielles is already being deployed in the libraries of Gatineau, Laval, Longueuil, Quebec City and Sherbrooke, and is set to reach 9 additional cities by 2026.
